The name of the dish comes from the name of a Russian diplomat Pavel Stroganov who ordered a French cuisine virtuoso, Careme, to prepare a special dish for the emperor Alexander I. Our proposal is a vegetarian, cholesterol free variation of this imperial dish.
The dish goes perfectly with fried potatoes coated with aromatic herbs and served with assorted salads sprinkled with olive oil and roasted cereals. The meal is an ideal choice for both traditional dinner, and as a dish at a big event.
